Guests will be treated to a culinary delight at this years’ “Everyday to Gourmet” food inspired event.
Tickets will be on sale at Ducks stores March 22nd, 2010.
Fashion With Compassion 2009 raises $113,500
for the Breast Cancer Supportive Care Foundation!
Fashion with Compassion 2009 was held on Saturday, September 26th at the Telus Convention Centre in downtown Calgary. In "New York" fashion 680 guests were treated to a lovely luncheon and program emceed by CTV's Vickie Chase and Chad Martin of Astral Media Group.
The fashion show featured fall collections from Ducks & Co. modeled patients of Breast Cancer Supportive Care. Most of the models are graduates of the group support programs provided by BCSC - the very programs funded by the proceeds of Fashion with Compassion. It was a moving experience to hear first hand how the support of sponsors, donors and guests have made a difference in the lives of these 15 courageous and inspiring women. In turn, the women had the opportunity to "give back" by sharing their experiences with guests and volunteering their time to model in the show.
Other highlights of the event included a riveting address by key note speaker Noel Foggo-Lamoureux who shared her very personal journey from diagnosis to treatment to recovery with the help and support of Breast Cancer Supportive Care; fabulous entertainment by professional singer Flo Shustack, also a breast cancer survivor; and Calgary's very own firefighters on hand to assist with the festivities and pose with guests for a memento "Vogue" magazine cover photo.
Through generous sponsorships and donations, grand prize tickets sales, the silent auction and raffle draws, this year's event raised approximately $113,500. This money goes directly to funding the group support programs that help so many women and their loved ones to not just survive but thrive after breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Supportive Care Foundation, a federally registered charity located in Calgary, is dedicated to providing innovative programs designed to offer support in the physical and emotional challenges that accompany and persist beyond treatment and recovery for breast cancer patients.
BCSCF has grown over the past 5 years to now providing care and support to over 1400 patients. It is through the generous support of guests to FASHION WITH COMPASSION that BCSCF has been able to grow and help the increasing number of patients.
